Moritz Spellenberg
Associate Director, Llewelyn Davies
Moritz is an Associate Director with internationally renowned healthcare design firm Llewelyn Davies Architects. After graduating from the University of Stuttgart, Moritz initially worked on the design of several District General Hospitals in Germany, before relocating to the UK in 2005. He was initially involved in the design and construction of some large-scale hospitals, procured under the Public Finance Initiative (PFI), including the Oxford Churchill Cancer Centre and Walsall Manor Hospital. In recent years, Moritz has worked as Architect and Technical Advisor for some of the UK’s leading NHS organizations, amongst others- Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals, University College Hospitals London, King’s College Hospital, Frimley Park Hospital, University Hospitals Sussex and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
Moritz is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and Architects for Health.
At international level, since 2018, Moritz has been leading a multi-disciplinary healthcare expert team, which is tasked with developing the strategic clinical briefs, supporting the lead Architect Renzo Piano with healthcare design, as well as coordinating the ICT integration, Facility Management and Medical Equipment provision for three new hospitals in Greece, developed under the 1bn+ SNF Global Health Initiative.
Duane Passman FIHEEM
Director, Percipio Consulting Ltd
Duane, originally an Astrophysicist, has worked on major investment programmes and projects in the NHS for over 35 years utilising public funding and PFI. He has worked on some of the largest projects in the NHS, being directly involved in well over £2 billion of investment to date and has now established his own company providing advice, guidance and support across the capital investment lifecycle.
Duane is a Fellow of IHEEM and a member of the Conference and Exhibition Committee, the Strategic Estates Management Advisory Group (and two working groups) and is Co-Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Working Group.
Duane is a graduate of the Cabinet Office’s Major Project Leadership Academy programme and has been a Gateway Reviewer for High-Risk major programmes and projects since 2003. He is also an accredited Business Case Practitioner.
Shane Barry
Concept Advisor at Spacestor Healthcare
Shane works with Spacestor clients to find solutions to the everchanging healthcare landscape. An experience in design and innovation makes problem solving a key trait Shane brings to clients, along with his passion for health, design and digital trends. Shane's work with Spacestor has focused on solving real estate problems with architectural, space defining furniture and redesigning workflows with NHS clients to help the Outpatient Transformation Programme.
